Lorraine Geiger
DVM
Dr. Geiger was born and raised in Southern California and has been in the veterinary field off and on since she was a young girl (she watched her first surgeries on horse and dog respectively on a vacation in rural Wyoming when she was 10 years old). She knew from the time she could talk that she wanted to be a veterinarian and a professional baseball player. She knew that baseball player was not likely so she focused on medicine but did however play fast pitch softball from the time she was 4. She volunteered and worked at both small animal and Wildlife clinics all through high school and college. She received a softball scholarship to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T) where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Animal Science in 2005. She even managed to play a year of softball for Tuskegee during veterinary school. You can still you can find Dr. G on a field any given night/weekend. During veterinary school she completed countless externships in exotic, wildlife and Zoo medicine. After graduation from Tuskegee in 2009 she completed a year long internship in wildlife medicine at C.R.O,W. on Sanibel Island, Florida and another year long internship in wildlife, exotics and zoo medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada before making her way back to North Carolina.
